Dr. Wolski is a Professor of Computer Science at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) and co-founder of Eucalyptus Systems Inc. Having received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of California at Davis (while a research scientist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory) he has also held positions at the University of California, San Diego, and the University of Tennessee, the San Diego Supercomputer Center and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
Dr. Wolski has led several national scale research efforts in the area of distributed systems and is the progenitor of the pioneering Eucalyptus open source private cloud. Dr. Wolski was instrumental in commercializing Eucalyptus and remained the CTO through the 2014 HP acquisition.
Mr. von Blottnitz was the president of Citrix Online following Citrix’s acquisition of Expertcity in February 2004. While President and CEO of Expertcity, Andreas successfully grew the organization from an early stage company to a leader in web-based remote access and customer support technology known as GoToMyPC.
Prior to Expertcity, Andreas served in senior management roles with several online media companies. As president and CEO of AOL in Germany, he managed the European service launch and propelled the company to a $150 million dollar corporation within a few years.
Mr. von Blottnitz is a General Partner with e.ventures, a global venture capital firm that focuses on disruptive technologies.
Saïd Ziouani has over 20 years of enterprise software experience in leadership, sales and engineering.
He founded Ansible Inc. in 2013, a leader in IT automation, which then Red Hat acquired in 2015. Saïd spent over 10 years at Red Hat as Vice President of Sales and Business Development and was instrumental in driving revenue to the $1B mark.
Prior to Red Hat, Saïd spent eight years as a senior software developer and holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and a master’s degree in information systems from Northeastern University in Boston.
Mr. Zhou is an enterprise software executive with 25 years of experience working for US companies in his home city of Beijing, China. Currently, Mr. Zhou serves as the CEO of UNISvianet, a joint venture between UNIS Group, 21Vianet and Microsoft.
Previously, Mr. Zhou was CEO of TurboLinux, General Manager, China for Eucalyptus Systems, and prior to UNISvianet, Mr. Zhou ran the China sales and support operation for Mirantis.
Mr Zhou is deeply entrenched in the Chinese enterprise cloud market and brings his great experience, references and strategic thinking to the AppScale Board of Advisors.
