AppScale Named a 2014 Cool Vendor by Gartner
Game-Changing Open Source PaaS Provider Recognized for Providing Flexibility for Applications
AppScale Systems, Inc., the leader in open source rapid development and deployment for scalable web and mobile applications, today announced that Gartner, Inc. has named AppScale in its “Cool Vendors in PaaS, 2014” report, just published. AppScale is one of five companies selected in the report that highlights interesting, new and innovative vendors, products and services. The full Gartner report can be read here.
AppScale develops an open source platform modeled on the brilliantly simple and globally successful Google App Engine (GAE) API, which accelerates development and time to market. Applications developed with AppScale may be deployed anywhere, from public clouds such as AWS, GCE, SoftLayer, and Azure to private clouds such as Open Stack, Eucalyptus and bare metal.
AppScale gives developers and CIOs the freedom to choose, unlock and integrate their applications as their business demands. AppScale allows them to choose public cloud, private cloud or a combination of both. AppScale unlocks applications from multi-tenancy restrictions because the platform is tuned for the application. AppScale freely integrates with any custom library or framework of choice, allowing developers to work with their familiar tools.
“We are thrilled to be recognized by Gartner for the AppScale platform,” said Woody Rollins, CEO and co-founder at AppScale. “We are laser focused on the success of our customers, and every day more CIOs, IT managers and developers are discovering the brilliance of our simple, flexible and scalable model. Over the next few months,” Rollins continued, “we will introduce game-changing new products that make running applications on GAE and AppScale even easier and more efficient.”
